Where do I start?
Interestingly enough, when we are asked about our e-commerce solution, we find that most of our potential customers have done very little research or put very little thought into what their e-commerce platform needs to do for them.
Some of the basic questions that need to be answered before we can begin to structure a solutions are below. Study them, and decide what may be the best e-commerce solution for you, and then when you have a conversation with your e-commerce provider of choice, you will be educated!
Questions you need to answer:
What are your immediate and long term needs? Are they the same? Can you start small and then grow?
How many items will you be selling? Just a rough number. Ten? A hundred? A thousand?
Will you be shipping items or can people just download digital purchase, or both?
How often does your inventory change? Do you even need inventory controls in your cart? (Hint: most people don’t!)
Will you need the ability to update products and pricing from a web based content management system, or will he products you are selling never change?
A little bit of thought goes a long way!
